2. Tell me more about how the site works
  • It’s a faster, more comprehensive way for companies to find available, qualified, Independent Clinical Research Monitors

  • Sponsors use the site to search for Monitors based upon their needs for a particular study. Once the right people are identified and express an interest to participate on that project [by granting permission to access their contact information], a sponsor then may conduct a phone interview.

3. If I register, am I an employee of MonitorForHire.com?
  • NO, you remain an independent contractor paid with an IRS-1099

4. What about my privacy and security? How do you protect the Information I provide?
  • Contact information gathered in registration is not accessible by clients [Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology Companies and Contract Research Organizations] until you submit your full profile to be considered for the project
  • As the Monitor, you control who may see your full profile
  • MonitorForHire.com maintains and adheres to a strict privacy statement for its members, go to our Privacy Policy page for the full policy
  • All information noted as confidential is protected by Secure Socket Layer (SSL) Technology the same software used to encrypt on-line credit card and banking transactions. The Lock icon in Internet Explorer and the Key icon in Netscape signify that SSL is enabled and the connection is secure with encryption of information.
  • Your Social Security Number and Banking Information are for the IRS and payment purposes only, clients do not have access to that part of your profile.


5. What is the rate charged to companies and what percentage of that rate do I receive?
  • Rates are based upon your experience, specific needs for a project and current "market" conditions. If you have a question regarding the rate, call us at 610.862.0909.
  • In the typical "Temp Agency" relationship, an agency will return only 50% [or less] to the Monitor. We have structured this service so that the Independent Monitor derives the most benefit for their effort. Our service will help you to attain the most competitive rate that corresponds with your experience.


6. How do I get paid?
  • A web-based timesheet/invoice with your specific project(s) is made accessible to you 7 days a week 24 hours a day. This timesheet/invoice must be completed every week Monday, by 12:00 Noon. Upon receipt of the completed timesheet/invoice a project invoice is sent to the client every week. At the time MonitorForHire.com receives payment, a direct deposit will be made into your account as noted in your profile
  • You will be able to review on-line at MonitorForHire.com the number of hours you have billed to date by project and the amount of money earned to date by project
  • As an independent contractor, MonitorForHire.com does not withhold Federal, State or Local Taxes. It is your responsibility to pay all applicable taxes

7. Does MonitorForHire.com offer any paid benefits to me?
  • As an Independent Contractor, MonitorForHire.com does not provide paid benefits for registered monitors; however, MonitorForHire.com is working with providers of lower cost benefits for individuals who are self-employed


8. Must I sign a non-compete to register with MonitorForHire.com?
  • NO


9. Must I sign a non-disclosure to register with MonitorForHire.com?
  • A general non-disclosure agreement is part of the site Terms & Conditions. When you submit your profile for registration, you agree to be bound by that agreement


10. As an independent professional, should I incorporate?
  • We cannot provide legal advice. There are certain legal/tax implications and benefits to incorporation, you should consult with an attorney and tax professional to determine requirements in the state you reside.


11. As an independent professional, should I obtain liability insurance?
  • Again, we cannot provide legal advice. There are certain legal implications to being an independent professional, you should consult with an attorney to determine requirements in the state you reside.


12. Is there a minimum availability I must have to register with MonitorForHire.com?
  • NO, it is in your best interest however, for you to input your availability every month for a 12 month period by month. Your profile will be selected on a number of criteria including availability.


13. If I register with MonitorForHire.com and a client chooses me for a project, do I have to participate in their project?
  • NO, a client would choose your CV based only on preliminary information and then an e-mail is generated by MonitorForHire.com and sent to you asking if you are interested in participating. If you reply no, then no further action is needed. The client must then find another monitor for the project


14. If I have any technical questions, or need assistance using the web-site or my e-mail account is there someone I can call or a help desk set up?
  • MonitorForHire.com maintains technical support or help for clinical monitors using the web-site in two ways:


15. If I have a problem with my computer, is there someone I can call or a help desk set up?
  • Contact the PC manufacturer or software company according to your license, warranty or service contract. We cannot be of assistance with questions regarding operation of your PC or software.


16. If I get a project through MonitorForHire.com, and the client decides to offer me a full-time position with that company, can I take the position or am I bound to working for MonitorForHire.com?
  • YES, you can take a position with a client, however, the client must honor the terms and conditions of use for MonitorForHire.com.
  • Sponsors, by their agreement, are obliged to pay MonitorForHire.com [and we pay you] for your services as long as you worked on a project as an independent monitor.
  • Sponsors will pay a fee to MonitorForHire.com having located you through this service

18. How does the referral bonus program work?
  • First, you must register and work on a project to qualify
  • If another monitor registers and indicates your name as a referral, you will receive a one-time referral fee of $250 paid after that monitor works 100 hours on any project. See the information in your registration package or call us for more details.


19. Is there a minimum level of monitoring experience required to register?
  • Many sponsor companies have a preference for a minimum of two years field monitoring experience. This includes experience conducting study initiation, site monitoring and study closeout visits. Unfortunately we will not register monitors with less than 2 years experience.

  • We perform a preliminary screening of the information entered by the monitor [Employment, Education and Personal References]. We have partnered with Ceridian Corporation, a well established, Billion Dollar provider of Human Resource Management Services.
  • You then select a monitor based upon their profile and availability then conduct a telephone interview.

  • Information about your project is released ONLY to Monitors you choose

4. Can other companies see my project information?
  • NO, this is what sets MonitorForHire.com apart from other web-sites for independent professionals. YOUR PROJECT INFORMATION IS CONFIDENTIAL AND NEVER PUBLICLY POSTED. AT ALL TIMES, YOU CONTROL which Monitors may view the information about your project


5. If I locate a qualified Monitor and they want to participate in my project, then what happens?
  • You can select a monitor based upon their registered/verified profile and availability then conduct a telephone interview.


6. What happens after I select my team?
  • A MonitorForHire.com client representative is assigned to your project to ensure satisfaction with your team members and for assistance with tools on the web site


7. How am I billed?
  • We request payment in a timely fashion
  • A web-based timesheet/invoice with your specific project(s) is accessible to you 7 days a week 24 hours a day. This timesheet/invoice is completed Monday at Noon every week by each monitor. Upon receipt of the completed timesheets an invoice is sent to you. You can review invoices on-line and verify charges as they are entered by the monitors

8. What type of contract must I sign to use the site?
  • The site Terms & Conditions address obligations of both Monitors and Sponsors, by registering for access to the web-site, you agree to be bound by that agreement
  • Once you've identified your team and are ready to start your project, an Appendix to the Terms & Conditions is created that address the specific obligations for your project


9. Have Monitors signed a Non-Disclosure agreement?
  • A general non-disclosure agreement is part of the site Terms & Conditions. When monitors submit their profile for registration, they agree to be bound by that agreement


10. What are the hourly rates MonitorForHire.com is charging for monitors?
  • Rates are based upon the Monitor's experience and specific needs for your project. If you have a question regarding rates call us at 610.862.0909 or contact your client representative
  • MonitorForHire.com rates are very competitive. We use Internet Technology to speed project resourcing and increase your efficiency. We are not eliminating human contact, we're just putting human effort in a more valuable place, customer service and on your project since that's what counts most
  • By keeping OUR overhead low, and increasing YOUR efficiency, WE REDUCE COSTS. THAT COST REDUCTION IS PASSED ON TO YOU IN LOWER RATES.

12. What happens if I make an offer of full-time employment to a monitor obtained through MonitorForHire.com?
  • As a registered Sponsor, you are bound by the Terms & Conditions of use for the web-site:
    • You are obliged to pay MonitorForHire.com in a timely manner, at the agreed upon rate, for the hourly services that a monitor has/will provide on your project, until such time they become a full-time employee of your company

    • You will pay a fee to MonitorForHire.com as a result of finding a full time employee through our service

13. My company has a contracts department that handles outsourcing and makes these type of decisions, I'm in Clinical R&D, can I still register?
  • YES, multiple therapeutic groups/departments at a single company are welcome and encouraged to register. However we ask that once you've found a monitor or team of monitors, you designate one project lead from your company to manage that team through the web-site
